The Oath

I Rise, Still: The Oath of the Rebirth

“I have been knocked down, punched, kicked in the teeth, but I rise, still. I will rise, always. The days that I don’t feel like rising will be difficult, but I will rise still, and always. My friends, family, and those in my community need me to rise, and I prefer it this way.

They look to me for wisdom and guidance, and I will happily give it to those who ask. I don’t, and will never, boast about where I have been, what has made me the beacon of strength. For even if I did, none will truly understand the depth of my accomplishment.

Although my past haunts me, it has tempered me into the fire-breathing-warm-hearted-curious-learning-machine that I am. I will learn, grow, and improve myself every day, especially when no one is expecting anything from me.

As I mentioned before: I have been knocked down, punched, kicked in the teeth, but I rise, still. I will rise, always.”

- For those who have the audacity to rise, and rise always!
